Let me explain...
Updated: Oct 5, 2020
Who am I?
Hi, my name is Mitch Gaiser. If you know me, you know I'm a technical person: I have been working as a data science analyst at a large CPG company for over a year, studied industrial engineering at Columbia University with a minor in entrepreneurship, and studied economics at Claremont McKenna College. I also love playing and watching sports, including legal sports betting. My passion for analytics and sports intersect right here on this page, where I will be developing models using machine learning techniques to predict sports outcomes and other things I find interesting!
What is this page?
This page is a blog where I will be documenting my work. As of today (September 2020), I have developed an NFL score prediction model that I will begin using for the 2020-2021 NFL season. This will be the first project showcased on this page, and I hope to include more in the future.
What this page is not:
This is not a place where you will find NFL picks for guaranteed sports betting returns. This also is not a place where I will be offering or advertising any sort of "perfect betting system" for people. This page is also not investment advice or a research report - it's just me doing something I enjoy and inviting you along for the journey.
What to expect:
At least one post per week with either an explanation of the progress I have made or a machine learning/data science lesson or interesting finds that I come across or discover. Also, follow my instagram @bettor_picks for weekly voting on NFL outcomes as well as abbreviated versions of these posts.
If you're reading this, I really appreciate you taking the time to do so and hope you check out some other posts I have here! My contact information is somewhere on this site, feel free to reach out with any questions, ideas or feedback.
