We're Back Baby!

Yes it's been a long time but I'm back and will be posting more frequently here. It's been a while and I've been focusing on other pieces of work - including spending more time and focus against my full time job, working on NBA predictions, and a handful of other projects, but with football season around the corner I want to make sure I am hitting the milestones I have set up for Bettor Picks.

Some thoughts for now:

I think Bettor Picks will become a seasonal, NFL only page. To be honest, the NBA model was extremely challenging to build and the returns were very unsatisfactory. Not only did I feel forced to run the model literally every single day, there was no way for me to offer a free and a paid version, so my incentives were misaligned. Bettor Picks for NBA felt more like a chore than the fun experience that the NFL season was. Hopefully, the NFL season can prove to be a lot of fun and we can continue the slowed momentum the community has faced since the end of the season last year.

I plan on testing different business models within the framework of Bettor Picks this year so that I can enjoy the work, followers can engage in a fun way, and the business can further support itself.

Additionally, there have been a lot of data science methods that I have learned over the past few months that I want to incorporate into the modeling efforts. I also plan on making these blog posts a bit more in detail to document my work better.
